It is hard to believe that the Bugatti Veyron is already seven years old! The brand is preparing to unleash the 2nd generation Bugatti Veyron, and it will pack an insane amount of aggression! The Veyron’s engine is unlike anything else in the world, and it makes achieving record-setting speeds appear effortless.

The good news of an even faster Veyron came directly from Bugatti’s chief engineer, Jens Schulenburg in an interview with Autocar. Schulenburg revealed that the next Veyron would boast 1,600 horses and weigh 250kg less than the current Veryon Super Sport. The 0-60 mark will be an astonishing 1.8 seconds. Bugatti intends to unleash what could be the new fastest car in the world at the Frankfurt Motor show in 2013.

The original 2005 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 boasted 4 turbochargers and accelerated faster than any previous production car. It packed 1001 horses with a 0-60 time of 2.46 seconds with a top speed of 253 miles per hour. Then SSC Ultimate Aero completely obliterated the Veyron, prompting production of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The Super Sport remains the fastest production car, a title that the marquee seems eager to hold onto, as the next Veyron shall be even faster. The body will still be recognizable as a Veyron, but the design will evolve to be more aerodynamic.
