How much does a 15-year-old Russian goalie make? They make enough to pay cash for a shiny new Aston Martin, apparently. Young Konstantin P, a goalkeeper for the Zenith-94 team, purchased the exotic sports car and then crashed it just three days later in an accident involving a Volkswagen Tiguan. Exotic car crashes sometimes have fascinating back stories.
The aftermath of the Aston Martin crash: That most definitely will not buff out.
The clincher of this exotic car crash saga is that Konstantin did not have a…you know…driver’s license. While all parties involved are ok, the story is simply outlandish because of the capacity for such a young athlete to afford such extravagances and the fact that it was permitted to proceed unobstructed when he is not even legally allowed to drive. I know what you are thinking: Well, it is Russia.
Reports communicate that the young sports star was scared following the accident about the repercussions surely coming his way. Blocking the law is not as simple as blocking a shot at the goal, after all. The director of the soccer club stated the following on the touchy matter in Konstantin’s defense: “The car he crashed was bought with his earnings. He did not steal it. We’re sure he was not drunk, but at this age people do not think.” Konstantin claims the crash was not caused by his actions, stating he looked around before entering the intersection. He went on to clarify: “There was no one. Suddenly, out of nowhere, on the right side of my side flew a Volkswagen Tiguan. My speed was low – about 40-50 km/h [25-30mph], but he was going around 80 km/h [50mph].” Ahh it is tough to be a kid these days!
