Farewell, Most Amazing Exotic Sports Car on Earth!

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport leaves us

It has happened…the last Bugatti Veyron 16.4 has been sold!  Yes, a lucky European customer has officially placed the final order for the $2-million-plus Bugatti Veyron.  This marks the 300th unit sold of the supercar and its superior cousin, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Farewell, most amazing sports car in the world…*tear

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

While it lasted, this Bugatti set records and stole hearts, burning a trail of accomplishment.  The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport was the fastest exotic convertible, hitting 223 miles per hour with its top off…sexy!  Make that 253 mph when appropriately clothed, top on.

The Veyron is the first-ever production vehicle to feature a full carbon-fiber chassis and body.  With 16-cylinder engine igniting 1,001 horses to life, yet is just as cozy on city streets as it is on the track.

Outstanding features of the Bugatti Veyron include, but certainly are not limited to:

•    7-gear twin-clutch gearbox controlling one of the fastest transmissions in the world, shifting in about 150 milliseconds
•    0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds
•    Carbon ceramic brakes (like those on the fantastic Lexus LFA supercar)
•    Those oh-so-sexy and unparalleled aesthetics

Bugatti received 26 customer orders by the end of 2005, with 100 by 2007.  I assume the economic downturn led to the slow in sales for the final 200 units, with the last one finally snatched up!
