Three women on a business trip found themselves in deep water after the GPS in their Mercedes rental directed them directly into a lake!  How did these women not notice the body of water prior to driving the Mercedes SUV rental into it?

Mercedes Rental Crashes into Lake

Just after midnight, the women were heading to a hotel in Bellevue during a business trip when they attempted to re-route the GPS located in the Mercedes rental.  The GPS apparently directed the women onto a boat launch near the entrance to I-90 in South Bellevue, Washington, where the exotic car crash occurred.

The road and boat launch were dark when the luxury SUV entered the water, and the women were in unfamiliar surroundings, which may have led to the soggy aftermath.  Bellevue Fire Department’s Lieutenant Eric Keenan said,

"I don’t know why they wouldn’t question driving into a puddle that doesn’t seem to end."

Keenan said one of the women immediately jumped to safety while the other two attempted to stand on the side doorframes prior to wading to safety.  A tow truck later retrieved the completely submerged luxury SUV rental to dry land, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected in this case.
