This is the $6k Lamborghini smartphone that is already outdated. It is the 88 Tauri, and it’s technology has already passed its prime, though it may find its way onto the Christmas wish list of a somewhat older Lamborghini fan who does not know the difference.

• The company behind the phone is Tonino Lamborghini. The head of the company is none other than Lamborghini founder Ferrucio’s son–though Tonino Lamborghini is not officially affiliated with Lamborghini cars.
• The smartphone operates on Android and a quad-core Qualcomm 801 processor. While it is better than some of those old laughable Blackberry phones inspired by exotic cars like Porsche, it is not quite up to competition mode with the latest market offerings this holiday season.
• Just 1,947 88 Tauri phones will be made…which may be roughly 1,946 too many.

This Lamborghini smartphone is aesthetically pleasing.

• The main perks of this device are that it is roughly half the price of the Lamborghini phone, and retains that ancient QWERTY keyboard that no one will admit they still have a thing for. Also: carbon fiber.
• The best part: Blackberry seems to have finally accepted defeat in the technology arena. From their website: “This handset isn’t about internal hardware specifications (meaning they are terrible), it’s about productivity, exclusivity and desirability. It makes a statement about its owner’s impeccable taste and drive for achievement and success, as well as discernment in making the right choices with products that help them stay on top.” That, folks, is a rather engaging and impressive way to say the Porsche Blackberry phone is a status symbol lacking in other areas.

Overall, Lamborghini is a brand known to be raging fast. It would certainly seem that Feruccio’s boy may not be fast enough to keep up in the smartphone industry and is in need of additional horsepower!
