At long last and after much speculation, a new Lamborghini SUV has been confirmed (follow link for previous story)! The successor to the Lamborghini LM002 SUV will be called the MLC and is set to debut at the Beijing Motor Show, marking the re-entrance of the brand to the luxury SUV market.

The new Lamborghini SUV will feature a 3-door layout and will be a 4×4. Despite attempts to keep plans for the SUV under wraps, a leak from parent company Audi has forced Lamborghini to come clean! Moreover, Lamborghini insiders have admitted that the SUV is far beyond a luxury concept vehicle, with 2015 production possible.
The new Lambo SUV will be loosely based on the platforms used by the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley SUV and VW Touareg, though extensive carbon fiber use will bring the overall weight down. Engineers that worked on the amazing carbon fiber Lamborghini Aventador are said to be up for the challenge.

Rumors state that the MLC will feature a front-engine layout with power stemming from a 584bhp version of the 5.2-liter V10 from the Lamborghini Gallardo. This is definitely going to be interesting!
