You never know what will roll into Jay Leno’s famous garage! Like this rare Lamborghini tractor…yes, a tractor! Apparently, Ferruccio Lamborghini crafted tractors in his native Italy after World War II. Leno is knowledgeable about most exotic cars, and prefers a hands-on approach. The model in the photo is a 1968-69 Lamborghini R485 tractor. 

Imagine the exotic sports car market today without the likes of the Lamborghini Gallardo, Aventador or Murcielago! John Deere would certainly have much to worry about had Ferruccio stayed on track with his tractors rather than steering into sports cars.

This episode provides an interesting glimpse into the early history of Lamborghini, which could have taken a different road entirely. 

The Lamborghini tractor boasts a 5.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine kicking out 85 horses and 350 pound-feet of torque. It has a two-foot clutch and 12 forward gears that allow it to travel from 0.3 up to 14 miles per hour. This one has a starter motor from a Lamborghini Countach! This is basically a 14 mph farm use Countach…outlandish!
