The next generation of Mercedes-Benz luxury compact cars may be the worst-kept auto secret! Recently, public patent filings outed the new A-Class Mercedes, and now an Italian car blog has outed the new B-Class Mercedes! Below is an undisguised photo of the Mercedes B-Class leaked!  Much smaller than our Mercedes rentals, it is definitely unique.

The new Mercedes A-Class and B-Class have many similarities, including new front-wheel-drive capacity.  The B-Class Mercedes is a mini-sized MPV (Eurospeak for multipurpose vehicle) while the A-Class is a traditional hatchback style luxury car, similar to the VW Golf. The new Ferrari FF features a hatchback design that has shocked the masses, though this design fits better on a Mercedes than a Ferrari.

The new Mercedes classes illustrate a move toward a smaller luxury car to meet the needs of a new market niche.  Both are decidedly European in appearance, classy and easier on the environment as many make the move toward luxury hybrids and smaller vehicles.
