For nearly a decade Bugatti has held the most expensive supercar title. The wealthiest luxury car lovers in the world drive Bugatti, and Beyoncé gifted a Bugatti Grand Sport to Jay-Z. But now the legendary Lamborghini brand has ousted the title, with their latest creation, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
$2.92 million dollar Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
So expensive and fast is this model, that it is unlikely to ever hold a spot in a fleet of Lamborghini rentals! I bet it comes with a matching racing helmet.
The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento comes with an exorbitant price tag of around $2.92 million USD, placing it $280,090 ahead of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The Sesto Elemento is not only expensive, but also so insanely fast that it cannot be legally driven on U.S. roads!
So what makes the Sesto Elemento the most expensive supercar on the market? This Lamborghini sports a chassis made almost exclusively from carbon fiber. In fact, the name ‘Sesto Elemento’ translates to ‘sixth element’, the atomic number for carbon.
Carbon fiber is the current luxury material for exotic cars, as it is not only gorgeous, but also ultra-lightweight and durable, successfully shaving off weight for increased speed. The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento annihilates the 0-60 mark in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of over 200 miles per hour thanks to a fine-tuned 5.2-liter V10 engine.

For now, this super-inflated supercar cannot be driven on public roads, as Lamborghini has opted to bypass the normal measures required in order for that to be legal. For that reason, the Sesto Elemento is ideal for a millionaire’s track toy!
