Fans of luxury cars and Lady Gaga just had the opportunity to purchase her 1990 Rolls-Royce Corniche III yesterday. How often does one get the option to go gaga for a celebrity-owned Rolls-Royce at auction? The sale remained stagnant with 2 bids at $16k for a long while–then things picked up and the Rolls went for $125k.
Not only can the buyer feel good about owning a small slice of something considered interesting, Lady Gaga is donating a cool 100% of the sale to the MusiCares charity. MusiCares is a charity that assists those working in the music industry during times of need. You know, if you be all late on that Lamborghini payment and need to keep up appearances…I kid, I kid. The sale took place at the Hard Rock New York as a segment of the ‘Music Icons, Legends and Rebels Auction’.
The short clip above shows Lady Gaga riding in the back of the droptop Rolls-Royce. Watch her assistant hold the star’s fashionable hat to her precious head.
Gaga’s Rolls-Royce Corniche III wears a red coat and is a two-door model with no problem taking her top off…just like her mama. She was purchased by Gaga about five years ago and is oddly registered to both the star and her father. Gaga’s birth name, Stefani Germanotta, appears on the title, making it a unique keepsake. The auction house had placed a value of between $30-$50k on the car, making the final sale triple the projections. The car has been on display at the Hard Rock for a week to drum up publicity and interest for the sale. There were a slew of other Gaga-owned items sold, including the items listed below:
- Sunglasses with signature
- Lady Gaga Harper’s Bazaar worn crystal jumpsuit
- Artpop headpiece
- Stage worn harness dress
- Worn stage clothing
- Dale Bozzio worn brassiere
- Signed photos, albums and magazines
