Yet another stunner managed to shine at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the new Spania GTA Spano. This Spanish supercar has a name that rolls off the tongue and is exceptionally easy on the eyes. The best part: the latest evolution of the GTA Spano is packing 900 horses…look out, LaFerrari!
Some of the best new supercars emerge at Geneva annually, like the LaFerrari, Lamborghini Veneno and the next-gen Spania GTA Spano.
Feast your eyes on the extensive carbon fiber bodywork, which is certainly a step up from the 2012 Geneva Motor Show version. Other differences over last year’s model include a revised rear bonnet and revamped interior. Just like last year, there will be a limited run of just 99 units.
The 2013 GTA Spano is packing an 8.4-liter twin-turbocharged V10 engine with 900 horses catapulting it into oblivion. While the 2012 Spano packed a mere 820 horses, both supercars hit the 0-60 jump in 2.9 seconds.
2013 Spania GTA Spano at a glance:
- Top speed of 217 miles per hour
- 0-60 mile per hour jump in 2.9 seconds
- Twin-turbocharged 8.4-liter V10 beast
- 900 horsepower
- Carbon fiber, titanium and Kevlar chassis
- Total weight is 1,350 kilograms
- 2 sequential transmission options: 7-speed automatic with paddles at the wheel or a 7-speed manual
Upon request, buyers can add a special electronic system to the 2013 GTA Spania that slices the power down to just 450 horsepower when the full stampede is not needed. That would help conserve a bit of fuel, rather than burning through a tank in a quarter mile.
