While it is still about six months away from blitzing us, Super Bowl XLIV is already making waves in Miami. I called some of our favorite upscale "south of Fifth" area hotels, and was amazed to discover that two of them are already sold out for the Super Bowl! Yes, the Ritz-Carlton South Beach and The W Hotel are already fully booked for game week next February.
During the rough-and-tumble pace of Super Bowl week, you are going to want a lavish place to unwind after your day of beaching it, sightseeing, shopping and more. An upscale hotel affords you the opportunity to rejuvenate in a luxury spa before a night out in your exotic rental car South Beach style. Our top five picks for posh places to play and stay during the 2010 Super Bowl include:
• The Setai
• Shore Club
• W Hotel
• The Standard
• Ritz-Carlton
When I called the Ritz-Carlton today I decided to write this blog to pass along the information to those who are planning on attending the 2010 Super Bowl that stylish spaces are already beginning to fill up. The Setai still has spaces available, though they are uncertain for how long. Prices for the Setai were quoted to me as subject to change, at $1200 per night with a 5 night minimum.
The W Hotel is another favorite, as it has just opened and is truly an upscale and inviting addition to South Beach, with a chic and frequented new lounge inside, "The Wall". The phone lines were full when I called the W Hotel, so I visited their website to inquire about their Super Bowl 2010 hotel rates and performed a search which informed me that there were no vacancies for those dates. Wow, so two of the finest South Beach hotels south of Fifth Street are already booked solid!
I called the Shore Club and was quoted a nightly rate of $1,045 for a four night minimum stay, which is also subject to change. The woman at Shore Club was extremely courteous and helpful, informing me that if I truly wanted to be their guest during the big game, I had a decision to make and soon! Finally, I contacted The Standard Hotel, and was informed that pricing was not yet available, but that the 4th night would be free and there is no minimum stay.
It would seem like time is of the essence this year in planning your Super Bowl XLIV trip. You certainly do not want to wait too long and run the risk of parking your Escalade rental full of fans in front of a less-than-savory accommodation. I hope this was helpful to you as you begin to book your Super Bowl 2010 trip to Miami, and I will be posting more events and information as the big week approaches.
