Courbefy village is nestled in rural France, and thanks to recent media coverage, bids are rolling in from England, Italy, Belgium, the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and, of course, France. According to Bernard Guilhem, mayor of Saint Nicolas Courbefy (Which is located just down the hill from Courbefy),

"It’s a real media phenomenon, it’s crazy. It’s a big snowball that everyone wants to push."
Because it has been abandoned since the 1970s, it will require a bit of TLC…
The village dates back to at least Gallo-Roman times, with a road connecting Limoges and Bordeaux slicing through it, though no one has lived there since the 1970s.
Naturally, the bank is eager to unload the property, and those with serious offers must pony up $440,000 (10% over the asking price) by a specified date to qualify for the auction. So far, over 100 interested parties have contacted Credit Agricole for details.
Will this sleepy little French village become a bustling luxury destination? Stay tuned!
