The Bugatti badge is synonymous with unimaginable speed and prestige…and rumors are igniting that someday it may be dubbed as a luxury hybrid as well! Unbelievably–the next Veyron could emerge as a hybrid supercar.

Who says a 1,000+ horsepower hypercar has to hemorrhage fuel?

Now that you have taken a breath and absorbed the shock, what is it that would tempt a brand like Bugatti to hop on the hybrid bandwagon? Bugatti chief engineer Jens Schulenburg spilled the beans to AutoExpress recently, admitting:
“We are working on the next super-sports car. Hybrids are definitely something we’re looking at.”

Would an electric Bugatti be accepted?

As always, Bugatti would like to shave some weight off of the champion Veyron, which leads to increased speed. They are investigating the many options to achieve that goal, including wheels comprised entirely of carbon fiber.

Bugatti will not be letting any electric horses out of its luxury stable just yet, however, with units of the Vitesse left on the market and a possible sedan launch. Stay tuned, we will spill the leak the second an electric Bugatti model is verified!
