4-Door Ferrari Hits Auction Block—It is Not a Ferrari FF

The Ferrari FF hatchback may be the first 4-door car to be made available to the masses, but back in 1980 there was a special Ferrari Pinin featuring four doors, and it will now hit the luxury car auction block!

This is a rare one-of-a-kind Ferrari, and the starting bid of $746,000 reflects its exclusive status. The all-new Ferrari FF MSRP is around $359,000, so instead of the aged 1980 Pinin, you could always just order a couple FFs! The Pinin was previously the only 4-door car ever graced with the prancing horse logo, but with the creation of the Ferrari FF hatchback, that has all changed. Hey, it will always have the title as the first 4-door car emblazoned as a Ferrari.

The Ferrari Pinin was created by Pininfarina (Incredible Italian design and engineering firm) to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the company. The founder of Pininfarina, Battista “Pinin” Farina was the inspiration for naming the vehicle. The auction will be held October 26th and the rare Ferrari may fetch as much as $860,000!

Fun fact: There was a second Pinin created especially for Enzo Ferrari. Do you know where it is today? Comment below!
