The 18th annual Mango Festival is hitting South Beach July 10th-11th, hosted by Fairchild Garden and featuring the Mangoes of India. There are many layers to this fabulous festival, so don’t miss the one day it comes to fruition!
So why should you attend the Mango Festival? It is a historical celebration of not only a piece of fruit, but of Indian culture, music, cuisine, dance and more.
South Beach is one of the few places in the world where you can immerse yourself in a plethora of cultures, experiencing their lifestyles, food, music, dancing and more.
The difference is it is not a commercialized theme park or restaurant, but an actual festival put on by the people to celebrate their heritage. It is the kind of event that Anthony Bourdain or Andrew Zimmern from the Travel Channel would love to attend! Plus it is in South Beach, so you know you are going to have a good time!
Guests are free to wander around and attend any event they choose. The official schedule of the Mango Festival includes a cooking demo by renowned chef Jay Mariadoss on Sunday at noon, featuring delectable Indian cuisine. This demo is followed by another cooking demo at 1 pm by chef Madhur Jaffrey, who is a celebrated Indian cookbook author.
At 2:30 pm, with your mouths watering, you can attend the Bollywood Dance Performance. There will also be available hena painting, sitar and tabla performances and of course, international cuisine!
So come ready to peruse the streets of South Beach, eat, drink and take in the intoxicating Indian culture. If it gets too hot you can always take a break and head down to the beach for a break! Or show up in one of our luxury convertible rentals and beat the heat while looking hot!
Admission is free for Fairchild members and kids under 5 years, $10 for 6-17. Adults are $20 and seniors are $15.
