Three Polish men (insert joke) stole three luxury cars in Europe, including a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu, a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano and a BMW 7-Series.
These masterminds should have opted for an exotic car rental to quench their thirst for their favorite brands…as they now face approximately $522,000 in taxes resulting from the theft! You see, any smugglers moving stolen goods through Germany are nailed with a 10% tariff and a 19% import tax because of their European Union membership. This fine is in addition, of course, to legal consequences resulting from their crimes. Ouchies.
Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu
The ultimate goal of the exotic car thieves was to get the cars from Oberrieden, Switzerland (where they were stolen) back to Poland via Germany, where 2 of the 3 were recovered along the autobahns.
Ultimately, Germany’s famed autobahns offered no cover for the suspects. One driver did manage to maim the Bugatti Veyron, scrapping it along a guardrail prior to the pullover. That act alone constitutes as a crime in my mind…damaging a world-class exotic sports car in the first-degree!
Ferrari 599 Fiorano
The driver of the Ferrari 599 abandoned the vehicle and escaped in a Furth, Germany train station. No word on the BMW, which blends a bit easier than the Ferrari and the Bugatti.
