If you live in Miami, or are visiting us soon, and have a weakness for all that is culinary, Miss Yip Chinese Café is a must-try.
Industry veteran Jennie Yip successfully blends delicious Eastern tradition with the unmistakable Miami infusion of international flavors. Somewhere between Nobu Shore Club and PF Chang’s, South Beach’s business types and locals frequent this classy fortune cookie.
The structure is modeled after a Shanghai teahouse, and detailed with exotic indigenous pieces and rich colors. The high ceilings give it a spacious and open feel, while the décor and colors do their job. The deep red booths are inviting, and the intricate oriental wallpaper is a nice touch to create an international escape.
At Miss Yip, locals come for the daily lunch special of entrée choice, rice and vegetable spring roll. Other offerings include homemade dim sum, steamed golden corn shrimp balls, sliced duck and mango salad.
If you visit in the evening, indulge in one of their exotic cocktails, infused with ginger, fresh raspberry and other flavorings. Miss Yip fills up with the after-work Lincoln Road crowd most happy-hours, sipping Lychee Mojitos and decompressing from their day.
Savvy locals also know that hidden above Miss Yip is an after-hours club called “Buck 15”, where they can party until the early hours of the morning. Follow link for a list of more South Beach Luxury Restaurants.
