Chevy Volt

It seems that there are more than just celebrity car buffs getting a charge out of the new Chevy Volt!  We all know that Jay Leno owns a Chevy Volt, and so does John Marshall, a collector on a smaller scale.  Luxury hybrids are increasing in popularity and availability.

Marshall estimates that he has owned around 150 cars throughout his life, from luxury cars to exotic sports cars.  His latest purchase, the Chevy Volt, has allowed him to literally take charge of fuel consumption! 

A rechargeable lithium-ion battery paired with a traditional gas-powered engine powers the Volt.  This model can drive about 40 miles on a fully charged battery before the engine automatically kicks in.  He tracked the miles over the first five days of ownership, and is astounded at the 126 miles per gallon the Volt has achieved!

The price tag for his Volt was $43,500, yet it will definitely save money in the long run, with soaring fuel costs.  Marshall waited a full two years for delivery of his Chevy Volt, a wait time similar to a supreme luxury car like a Lamborghini, but claims he is most impressed with the vehicle.
