Another Lamborghini Aventador crash has occurred, this time in Sarasota, Florida. It seems that a 79-year-old woman allegedly hit the rear end of the hypercar, causing quite a bit of damage to the precious carbon fiber frame.
A 79-year-old woman has allegedly caused a crash involving a Lamborghini Aventador in Florida
Details are sparse, but the extensive damage to the back end of the Lamborghini could indicate that it was a nailed in the back by granny, causing it to splinter apart and likely the driver to utter an expletive or two. One of the Aventador’s wheels was completely dislocated from its axle! The good news is that no one was injured and that the damage looks like it can be repaired, saving the owner a lengthy wait for a replacement.

A solid carbon fiber chassis holds the absurdly potent 6.5-liter V12 in place while 700 horses plunge it forward with furious velocity. The Aventador’s 7-speed single-clutch automated gearbox is a touch jerky at lower speeds, even though it changes gears in about 50 milliseconds. It is unclear what type of vehicle the other driver was commanding.

While this beast can demolish the 0-60 in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 217 face-splitting miles per hour, it proved to be no match for a woman in a hurry! This is an interesting crash tale, but it is still dwarfed by the man in Houston, Texas, who crashed his Aventador after owning it just one week…those pesky nightclubs. The clincher: alcohol was not found to be a factor. The driver lost control and careened into some pedestrians and parked cars. Not everyone can control that much power.
