Fans of the Fast and Furious franchise were treated to quite a few seemingly unbelievable stunts in ‘Furious 7’, including the Lykan Hypersport jumping from skyscrapers and landing in…other skyscrapers! But could the $3.4 million dollar hypercar actually pull that stunt off in real life? Science says perhaps!
The clip above details the Lykan Hypersport and offers a glimpse of the action:
Physics professor Lee Loveridge of Pierce College has mentioned that the death-defying skyscraper stunt in the film could possibly be the most plausible in terms of what is actually possible. By analyzing the actual measurements of the Etihad Towers, the space between them and then factoring in the power and momentum calculations for the car, it turns out that Dom and Brian could have actually managed the unbelievable stunt in reality.
The Lykan Hypersport from W Motors is the first supercar from the UAE. It is an absolute beast, capable of demolishing in both the power and bank account arenas. You know that if the crew of ‘Fast & Furious’ is impressed by this car, it is truly something special–a cut above competitors.
In reality, the crew used replica Lykan Hypersport cars for the CGI film stunts, so as not to utterly destroy the real deal. Would the scene with Brian running from the bus while hanging over a cliff and leaping onto the back of Leddy’s car actually be possible? Probably a negative. Did the crew drop real cars from the aircraft and parachute them to the ground? Yes, yes they did. Will someone now attempt to jump a supercar between buildings? We certainly hope not.
The photo above shows the Lykan Hypersport looking all transformer like, a look it seems to pull off well.
