The latest round of Porsche 918 spy shots show the iconic car wrapped in Martini racing livery. The black and white version of the racing livery left some to mentally picture the look in full color, as you can see from the black and white video lower in the post. The colors are very vibrant and capture the historical hues intended.
Porsche released this round of photos recently, featuring the same Martini theme in traditional red, navy and cerulean colors.
The traditional colors look fantastic on the 918’s curvaceous body. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come, considering Porsche’s agreement with Bacardi & Company to make the Martini Livery exclusive to the 918 spyder. Is this a hint at a future sponsor for a Porsche return to Le Mans? We can hope.
It is not the first time a Porsche 918 has flaunted the historic stripes: Think #3 in the 1970 Daytona 24 Hours race and #22 917 LH in 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The clip above shows the 918 in action, sporting the muted black and white Martini livery. The color pops louder, and we cannot wait to see more of this!
The 918 is entering more mature stages in development. From the photos, we can see that the interior is coming together with trim and bucket style seating with chrome harness pass-through. Though it is closer to production ready, there are still a few key areas that are under construction and we cannot wait for the finished product!
Sharp lines cut this slice of Porsche history
