While Fiat and Abarth operate under the same Fiat group umbrella, they are separate firms.  Their differences are quite clear when you observe the Fiat 500 Ferrari Edition or 695 Tributo Ferrari.  Honey, who shrunk the Ferrari?  It is a luxury hybrid of diminutive proportions. I do not believe we will see this Ferrari in a fleet of luxury rental cars.

 

Abarth has taken a chic Fiat and made it Ferrari hot, and supermodel small.  Abarth claims that 80 percent of buyers are current Ferrari owners who want a city runaround car.  Did I mention that all 152 European models of the Fiat 500 Ferrari Editions are sold out? Maybe this maybe added to a fleet of Ferrari rental cars.

The Ferrari Edition Fiat 500 is based on the Abarth 500 Esseesse, receiving classic red paint, Scuderia-style stripes, and unique Ferrari badging.  Other features include dual mode exhaust, large Brembo brakes and smoked charcoal 17-inch alloy wheels.

Lurking beneath the baby bonnet is a 178bhp version of the standard car’s 1.4-liter turbocharged engine.  Even with short legs, this mini marvel hits the 0-60 mark in just 7 seconds.  So while it appears to be a segway, know that it is faster.  How adorable.
