Extreme Collection Hitting RM Sotheby’s Auction Block Soon

Luxury auction house RM Sotheby’s has proven to be quite the powerhouse–and they are continuing to dazzle in fashion with one of the most extensive and exciting automobile auctions looming on the horizon. Not only are the usual rare and notable vehicles lined up for action, but also the first and last Bugatti Veyron units will be sold at the same event!

The Pinnacle Portfolio will hit the RM Sotheby’s auction block on August 13th, 2015. By the time the final hammer lands, over $65 million dollars may have changed hands as well as both the first and last Bugatti Veyron models ever made. The clip above shows some of the inventory–prepare for feelings of intense envy.

The upcoming RM Sotheby’s auction is the collection of a single anonymous individual and it is valued at around the $65 million dollar mark and includes roughly 25-30 vehicles.  The sale is so illustrious that it has even been given a name: The Pinnacle Portfolio. I suppose that a collector prolific enough to own both the first and final Bugatti Veyrons to roll off of the production line must have exquisite tastes and that this sale will get engines running and leave bank accounts vastly depleted. The first is 2006 Veyron with chassis #001 and the other is chassis #300. While the last Bugatti Veyron is the official number 300, it is not the Bugatti Veyron LaFinale special edition car, to avoid any confusion. The original production run of 300 omits some if not all of the special edition collections and cars.

Aside from the notoriety of the Bugatti Veyron units, there will be other flashy contenders like the following cars:

  • The last Ferrari Enzo built: A 2005 model gifted by Ferrari to Pope John Paul II
  • A 2008 Koenigsegg CCXR that had a role in the Fast & Furious 5 movie
  • 1995 Ferrari F50
  • 2008 Lamborghini Reventon
  • 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Alloy Gullwing
  • 2005 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

Will over $65 million dollars change hands at the Pinnacle Portfolio sale at RM Sotheby’s this August? With the extensive collection and unbelievable cars, that figure seems very likely to be surpassed.
