Two luxury cars owned by two celebrities have been swiped from two separate dealerships on two separate U.S. coasts already this month! Dizzy? So are we!
Recently, we covered the theft of celebrity chef Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini Gallardo from a San Francisco dealership, and just last week a $190,000 Porsche Panamera owned by J.C. Romero of the Phillies vanished from Bert Smith Porsche in St. Petersburg, Florida. Is swiping exotic cars from dealerships becoming a new trend?
Romero’s Porsche Panamera was at the Porsche dealership for routine service and maintenance at the time of its disappearance. It does seem highly unusual for two exotic cars to be stolen within the same short period, one on each coast of the United States. So if you are in the San Francisco area and spy a bright yellow Lamborghini Gallardo somewhere that it should be, or a blue Porsche Panamera in Florida, perhaps notify authorities because they may not be exotic rental cars off the beaten path!
While it is unknown if the cars were insured, and I imagine they were, it is unlikely that J.C. Romero is feeling a pinch after raking in over a decade of big league pay. Romero has made an estimated $19 million over the span of his sports career, and will make an additional $1.35 million this season.
While he is waiting for news on his missing sports car, Romero should call us and drive one of our stunning Porsche rentals Florida! And Fieri, we also have you set up with a fleet of stunning luxury rental cars LA to choose from!
