Anyone Heard of the Lamborghini Marzal?

The Lamborghini Marzal prototype emerged at the 1967 Geneva Motor Show as a potential window to the brand’s future, featuring nearly wrap-around style windows and revolutionary styling cues. It was designed by Marcello Gandini for Ferruccio Lamborghini to add a true 4-seater to the lineup and was a stunning Lamborghini concept car.

Alas, the Marzal just wasn’t to be…though the general shape and some aspects were incorporated into the Lamborghini Espada, the overall wow-effect was lost. While the Marzal never reached production, as is the case with many luxury car concepts, it was driven by Princess Grace and her husband at the Monaco Grand-Prix in 67 and again in 96 to honor Carrozzeria Bertone at the Concours Italiano.

This video of the Marzal shows how spacious and bright this luxury-bubble truly is, with added details about driver experience

Specifications include a 2L 175 bhp in-line six engine mated to a 5-speed transmission. The 2L is a halved version of Lamborghini’s 4L V12, which is interesting. This Lamborghini concept was on display in the Bertone Design Study Museum for ages prior to hitting a luxury car auction at Villa d’Este in May of 2011, where it nabbed around $2 million dollars.
