Miami’s nightlife is known worldwide for its extravagance, exclusiveness, and extreme excitement. It is impossible to say exactly what the best hotspots are, as they are consistently shifting.
Yes, much like Los Angeles, there seems to be a new “it” club weekly in the Miami nightlife scene. Just like luxury rental cars, there is a desire to try the next best thing in the club scene, yet there are still Miami clubs that remain list-toppers through it all, like the following, who offer something for all tastes:
• The Wall at W Hotel South Beach
• LIV at Fontainebleau Hotel South Beach
• The Florida Room, Delano Hotel South Beach
• Abraxas South Beach
• Bongo’s Cuban Café, Owned by Gloria Estefan
The Wall, W Hotel. Located inside the new W Hotel South Beach luxury hotel, this steamy Miami nightclub is still a must on many a celeb’s list of faves. Some of the best DJ’s from around the country provide pulse-racing entertainment for partygoers and guests of this Oceanfront luxury hotel. Note that the majority of the music throbbing from the speakers is hip-hop, and while the attire is causal, the labels are definitely designer. An exotic or luxury rental car is recommended for this see and be seen club, and prepare to be judged!
*2201 Collins Avenue
LIV, Fontainebleau Hotel. This plush hotel recently received a multi-million dollar makeover and renovation, and the rejuvenated outcome is host to many a celebrity and sold-out show. LIV is a fusion of dance club meets luxury lounge, very chic and energetic. Available private skyboxes boasting views of the entire club LIV attract big spenders, and the parties rage through the morning hours in true Miami fashion.
*4441 Collins Avenue
The Florida Room, Delano Hotel. For the more laid-back crowd, the Florida Room offers a piano-bar appeal. This cozy lounge provides stellar acoustics from the main attraction, a Lucite grand piano. The sprinkling of piano keys mixed with your favorite specialty cocktail make this the perfect place to unwind and elate simultaneously. So who else digs it? Lenny Kravitz and Jamie Foxx have both performed at this luxe venue!
*1685 Collins Avenue
Abraxas, Meridian Avenue. This is a must-do for the beer lovers out there, as Abraxas serves up some 200 varieties of specialty beers! There is also an array of vintage wines from around the world. Situated fittingly in a restored wood-framed house, this chill Miami nightspot offers up a pub-style appeal with the occasional live show. The entertainment varies from night to night, ranging from blues, funk, classic and contemporary rock, indie, new wave to electronica. There is, however, one rule at Abraxas, and that is no hip-hop.
*407 Meridian Avenue.
Bongo’s Cuban Café. This Cuban-style hideaway is owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and provides guests with the distinct vibe of Havana’s pounding pulse! Bongo’s is part Cuban restaurant, part dance club, where you can find anything from a hot Latin meal to a hot Latin date. Live DJs, celebrities, creative cuisine and the Latin vibe suck in the high-profile partygoers. Because it is located in proximity to the Miami Heat arena, it also draws in crowds following NBA games looking for good food and a good time.
*601 Biscayne Boulevard
