Now that the Ghibli is a certain reality–it should be known that it is packing in the power department with 2 turbocharged petrol engines. While it appears more subdued than its sleeker and sportier predecessors, it has some perks of its own.

The Maserati Ghibli is the brand’s very first premium E Segment saloon and will be available by the end of this year. It is dramatically different from its sportier siblings, opening opportunities to target a new market segment. read more

Maserati shooting brake

A Maserati Shooting Brake has been sold in Italy for €117.600. RM Auctions unloaded the custom Maserati created by coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera in Italy. It is a 2009 Maserati Touring Bellagio Fastback based on the Quattroporte. The hatchback style profile calls to mind the Ferrari FF hot hatch, though the two are worlds apart in other arenas.

The first of just four examples of the Maserati Touring Bellagio Fastback has been sold at auction.

Maserati Ghibli Features the First Ever Diesel Engine by the Brand

Maserati Ghibli

The Maserati Ghibli is more diminutive than the flagship Quattroporte and features the first-ever diesel engine produced by the marquee. The Ghibli was designed to attract a new market segment as part of a larger plan to dramatically increase overall sales to 50,000 units annually. The little diesel will be positioned to move and looks a bit different than its siblings.

The Maserati Ghibli made its official debut at the Shanghai Auto Show at the end of April. It is a driver-oriented addition to the exotic sports car fleet with the added versatility of a diesel engine. Competitors include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. read more

Maserati Ghibli Renders Speculation

Maserati Ghibli

Renderings of the Maserati Ghibli are sparking conversations, mainly because of the sedan styling. The Maserati sedan is a departure, though not drastic, from the sleek sports coupe the world is accustomed to seeing. The Ghibli will be joining the next Maserati lineup, which offers something for nearly every type of driver.

The Ghibli is the new entry-level sedan for iconic Italian carmaker Maserati.

The four-door layout of the Ghibli offers more space than its predecessors, in the backseat. The overall size is actually a touch more compact than the 2014 Maserati Quattroporte. The chosen name Ghibli is interesting for a 4-door sedan, as the word was originally used for the 2-seater models of the 1960s and 1970s. The name Ghibli was last used on a powerful derivative of the Biturbo in the 1990s, and was also a 2-door layout. read more

New Maserati Quattroporte is From Italy with Luxe

Maserati Quattroporte

Rap star Eminem rang in the anthem for Chrysler’s new “Imported from Detroit” angle, and now Maserati is showing some country love. Fiat SpA’s new Maserati Quattroporte is trumpeting an imported from Italy song, with luxe.

The new Maserati Quattroporte:

  • Entry-level: Direct-injected, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 410 horses. This model has a top speed of 177 miles per hour.
  • Range-topper: Direct-injected, twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 with 530 horses. Top speed is 191 miles per hour for this beast!
  • Both models will have a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifting. Clients can select either RWD or AWD configurations.

The new Maserati Quattroporte can hit the 60-mile per hour marker in less than 5 seconds, without attempting to be a supercar. The super sleek model will roll onto the U.S. market this year, where the brand hopes to lure a larger share of buyers. This number may be a bit unrealistic, however, as Maserati currently unloads around 5,000 units in the States annually and aims for 50,000 by 2015. Hey Maserati…drop the price to 1/3 and that may actually happen! Until then, our Maserati rentals are always available. read more
