Why the 2016 Lamborghini Huracan A Better Sport

There is good news for the next calendar year: The next-gen Lamborghini Huracan will offer that RWD experience. A departure from the first Huracan, which offered AWD, the 2016 Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 will mark a return to the rear. Why does it matter? As with any new model, even the most pragmatic of test cycles cannot predict everything and every machine can be improved.
The clip above is the official introduction of the Lamborghini Huracan.

The Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 stepped in to fill the rather large shoes of the outgoing Gallardo—the social and non-threatening offering. That is not to say that the Gallardo is not a beast, it simply means it lies somewhere beneath the more extreme brand offerings. The Huracan was developed to serve in that capacity, beneath the more aggressive and powerful Lamborghini Aventador and Veneno machines. Let us take a look at how the next-gen Huracan will measure up: read more

Reward for Stolen Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Hits $100k

Stolen Lamborghini Aventador

A 2015 Lamborghini Aventador roadster was stolen in New York City, and the reward has since skyrocketed to a healthy $100,000. The white Aventador is valued at $795,000 and was last seen on October 28th cruising the streets of Flushing, Queens. Was it begging to be stolen? Some may ask that very question, but it was a very unique car. Authorities feel the vehicle is likely in a shipping container or already gone because it would certainly stand out even in the stolen parts market.

Lamborghini Huracan GT3

The Lamborghini Huracan GT3 is poised to make a debut at the 2016 Daytona 24 Hours endurance race. The newbie was officially introduced earlier this year and the Raging Bull is not going to spend much idle time prior to unleashing its variants. The standard Huracan was created to replace the long-running Gallardo model, but the GT3 Huracan is for the track.

Look for the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 at the Daytona 24 Hours endurance race.

The Daytona race will be the first Stateside venue for the Huracan GT3, having already indulged in the Blancpain Endurance Series. There are well laid plans for an expanded motorsports circuit slated to include the United SportsCar Championship and others. According to Lamborghini Squadra Corse director Giorgio Sanna: “We are only focused and committed to customer racing. We are excited to make this next step in North America as our motorsport program competes for the first time in Lamborghini history in the 24 Hours at Daytona and in multiple full-season GTD efforts.” The outgoing Lamborghini Gallardo was certainly no slouch in the Blancpain series. read more

Why Manual Lamborghini Option Is Gone For Good

manual Lamborghini

With many companies doing away with the manual transmission, Maurizio Reggiani of Lamborghini explains exactly why Lamborghini has opted to put the brakes on the option for good. The manual Lamborghini will no longer be an offering when buyers eagerly begin their orders, those desperate for the hands-on experience must locate an aftermarket tuner with the capability to alter the gearbox.

Why Lamborghini will no longer offer a manual transmission

Even though most of the minds in charge at Lamborghini love a manual transmission, it has been phased out due to both technology and progression. Reggiani, who is director of research and development at the Raging Bull admitted that the option is indeed gone for good and explained: “All the systems that are integrated in the car need to have a dialog with one another. The clutch is one of the fuses of the system, whether you’re engaging or disengaging the torque. This creates a hole in the communication between what the engine is able to provide and how the car reacts to the power of the engine. For this reason, unfortunately, I must say I am sure that in a premium supersports car like the Huracan we will only do a semiautomatic. Unfortunately, it’s the demand of the control of the chassis. If you want to control the chassis, you must control the power. If you want to control the power, the clutch must be under the control of the brain of the car, not your brain.” read more

Lamborghini Huracan Spyder Buyers Boldy Invited to Own the Sky

Lamborghini has released a special short film to showcase the new Huracan wherein it alerts drivers to the idea that they now ‘own the sky’. The catch phrase is to make drivers fall for the Lamborghini Huracan spyder in all of her drop-top glory. Do they actually own the sky? No. Will it feel like it when the wind of 610 horses whips them right in the kisser? You betcha.

The Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 spyder short drama can be enjoyed above:

The love affair with the convertible sports car is a bit like the love riders have of a motorbike. It offers the ability to let go and become one with the wind while drowning out the noise. The video depicts a couple in their penthouse during a storm. They look to one another and wordlessly agree that they need to make haste to their Lamborghini Huracan and change the weather. Once inside the Huracan, they proceed to slice a ray of sunshine through the dark clouds and ultimately ‘Own the sky’. Clever. So Moses parted the Red Sea and Lamborghini parts the clouds. read more

The Fascinating 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce Roadster Rolls Out

2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce

The Raging Bull carefully selected the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to unveil the fierce new 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce roadster. The release came on the heels of much teasing and detail touting—and the crowds were certainly pleased with the machine.

The 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce will leave treadmarks on the heart

The 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce roadster at a glance:

  • The Aventador LP750-4 SV is but the latest example of the powerful line, but she happens to have the bragging rights to being the first-ever Superveloce model with a convertible lid. That marks a first in a history spanning over 52 years of Lamborghini SV offerings—making it a bit of a big deal. Perhaps purchasers should be treated to a complimentary tee bearing the much-loved phrase: “I’m kind of a big deal”?
  • Onto the most important stuff: She is brimming with the expected Lamborghini power via a healthy 6.5-liter V12 engine pushing forth 750 horses from the stable. Most already knew the horsepower based purely on the use of the LP 750 in the name—because this is a brand that prefers to shout it out rather than leave it to the masses to just take a stab at it.
  • Performance times are as follows: The not to 60 mile per hour sprint is achieved in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of over 217 miles per hour. This is under the typical 3-second figure, indicating that it has been improved for the pavement rather than just the curb appeal.

Overall, the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce roadster looks just like her hard-shelled sibling but features some sexier perks. When asked why this version was created the way it was, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann shared to various outlets: “We have a commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open-air experience.” Well, a supercar capable of reaching those speeds with a drop-top is most assuredly meets that very description. read more

Lamborghini Urus Tramples Over Asterion Concept

Lamborghini Urus

With the SUV comeback still in full-effect with no indication of slowing its roll, it seems that the Lamborghini Asterion hybrid concept is sort of sulking on the back burner. Essentially, the Raging Lamborghini Urus SUV has trampled over the Asterion. But will Lamborghini Urus adopt that hybrid powertrain along with the spotlight? It seems quite likely for the Urus to be not only the first SUV the brand has made in while, but also the first hybrid.

The Lamborghini Urus SUV concept

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann shared that because the Raging Bull only offers two models in the current lineup, the introduction of a third would most certainly be an SUV. A hybrid Lamborghini SUV would help to round out the family–which consists of the award-winning Lamborghini Aventador and the newer and less intense Lamborghini Huracan now that the long-running Gallardo has been retired. It is a known fact that a large percentage of exotic sports car owners have a soft-spot for the SUV as a daily driver, and that love is increased if offered by their preferred brand with perhaps perks. read more
