Tiger Woods: Out of the Doghouse and Back on the Golf Course?

After 144 days away from competitive golf, he’s back.  Tiger Woods teed off on Thursday at the world’s most famous golf tournament—The Masters.   He hit his drive straight, landing in the fairway and heard a polite smattering of applause from the fans gathered on the first tee.  But what is ahead for this fallen hero?

In case you’ve been in a cave or off the planet for the last five months, the number one golfer in the game has been embroiled in a sordid sex scandal involving more than dozen women claiming they have had affairs and sex-text relationships with Woods.  The dirty “sexts” (sexual texts) have been spreading rapidly over all media outlets, especially the Internet, for all to read.

BMW and SGL to Develop Carbon Fiber Plant

Two of our favorite luxury forces are about to combine, as BMW has plans to enter an agreement with SGL Group to develop a carbon fiber factory, right here in the U.S.  BMW is one of the leading luxury car makers in the world, and carbon fiber is currently the industry standard of what defines a luxury composite material.  This union pleases us, immensely.

The carbon factory will be located in Washington, and will have the capacity to supply material for the hybrids and electrical cars that are being developed for the future.  We can see the dollar signs now.

Sign of the Times-Automakers Unable to Donate Luxury Cars to Charities

The economy has been in a delicate state for sometime now, as we all know.  Just another blunt sign of this economic distress is the East Side House Settlement’s annual auto auction and gala in New York.  This charity helps prepare disadvantaged kids for college, but was unable to obtain a donation from an automaker for this year’s gala.

Exotic Destinations: Meet Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Move over Mickey Mouse, the world’s fastest theme park is set to make history in 2010, in the form of “Ferrari World”.  We even like the way the words feel rolling off of our tongues…Ferrari World.

The only unfortunate thing about Ferrari World so far is that it is so far…away.   Ferrari World is located in Abu Dhabi, which is no problem save the fact that it is on the opposite side of the planet.

Bugatti Unveils Two Special Edition Carbon Models at Geneva Motor Show

Yes, Bugatti has doubled-up for this year’s Geneva Motor Show, gracing us with not one, but two amazing cars:  The Grey Carbon a2010 Bugatti Grand Sport Grey Carbonnd the Blue Carbon.  Both models attended the show topless, and both are outstanding.  Too bad these are the only two that will be produced.

The actual names are a bit lengthy:  The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Grey Carbon, and the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Blue Carbon.  That is six words per name, and we find the whole “grand sport” part to be unnecessary, as it is obvious by looking at the sleek bodies of these beauties.  Perhaps the names are the only part we would change.

Atlanta Motorsports Park-Bringing the Autobahn to the States?

Atlanta Motorsports ParkIf you are an exotic sports car owner or enthusiast, odds are that you like to go fast.  You are also likely aware that once you purchase your luxury car, often with speed capacities reaching 200 miles per hour plus, that there are very few places to (legally) unleash the full power of your toy.  Enter the proposed “Atlanta Motorsport Park”.

The Atlanta Motorsport Park is essentially in concept form currently, but would provide a controlled environment for drivers to reach max speeds in a safer and legal way.  Think of it as a Country Club, only instead of teeing off, members are hitting the accelerator.  Hard.

The Sumptuous Citroen Survolt Concept is Savvy & Green

Wowing spectators at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show was the Citroen Survolt concept-a provocative exotic car with an appearance that makes it special.  This exotic car concept definitely stood out among its competitors at the show-and it is even environmentally friendly!

Yes, it would certainly seem that this French luxury carmaker has not forgotten the impact of aesthetics when designing this concept.  While green cars, and increasingly green luxury cars, are unarguably the trend of the future, they have not overlooked the fact that looks and sex appeal are two major components to selling an exotic car.
