On the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi was busy displaying its funky fresh side with an all-new urban concept at a Volkswagen event. Rarely is a luxury concept car such a show stealer, but this Audi reminds me of the 1930s Auto Union racing cars, it is quite a surprising display from the typically uniform brand!
In its advertising campaign for the upcoming 2012 Audi A6 sedan, the brand seems to be showing America its roads in a new light…as perhaps a memoir of the once-great American highway system. Are America’s highways deteriorating along with the economy? The A6 is loaded with cool car features, which is the secondary message the ads convey.
View the ad above to get a feel for the direction the brand has taken with the campaign, it creatively blends the truth with a solution to the roadways– increased and improved safety features in vehicles
Mercedes is pumping hydrogen and excitement into the minds of fans with the new F125 luxury car concept! This Mercedes concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, complete with a stunning waterfall backdrop and tense music!
The video above provides a detailed look at the Mercedes F125 concept
BMW may soon subtract the driver from the equation entirely, though it is purely a preference thing! Ever the daily-driver luxury car, a BMW or BMW rental was unquestionably intended to drive. So why would the company transform the driver into a co-pilot of sorts?
When one pictures Croatia, it is typically a vision of electric Adriatic shorelines, close-knit culture and extremely tall men…and now, electric supercars? A Zagreb-based startup called Rimac Automobili has announced a battery-powered luxury hybrid coupe that it says can reach 190 miles per hour.
The Bull is just bursting with good news lately! First, we get a worldwide preview of the Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale, and then learn that the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento shall indeed see production! It is an amazing time for the luxury car marquee, and they certainly seem to be revving things up for the competition.
Fisker is putting people to work with their latest luxury hybrid cars, the Fisker Karma and ‘Project Nina’, a more affordable 2nd Fisker hybrid car. Valmet Automotive is in the process of hiring 200 employees this year to manage the rapid sales created by the cars. Valmet’s Uusikaupunki (that is in Finland, btw) factory currently employs 850 people, so adding 200 is certainly nothing to scoff at!
Stars like Leonardo DiCaprio have helped catapult luxury hybrids into the mainstream, shown here with his Fisker Karma
On the heels of much success with its first luxury hybrid car, the Fisker Karma, the brand is already pushing the pedal down to produce another hybrid! Previously I shared that Leonardo DiCaprio ordered first Fisker Karma hybrid, and it will be interesting to see if he orders a second, or just remains on his green path with the original.
Dr. Evil demanded “sharks with frickin’ laser beams attached to their heads” in the hit flick ‘Austin Powers’, and BMW apparently shares the sentiment, sans sharks! BMW is betting on laser technology, foreseeing that it will replace current LED headlamps. What a bright idea!
The next generation of our BMW rentals may have a very futuristic appearance! That is because a key advantage to lasers, aside from efficiency, are the unique design possibilities they allow. The small size of a laser eliminates the need for bulky head and rear lamps, because a laser headlight can shine through the cross sections of a grille, effectively hidden when not in use.
Auto-brat Jay Leno appears to own every classic and luxury car he has ever wanted, but some forget that the legendary celebrity car collector is actually quite knowledgeable when it comes to automobiles! Leno has a soft-spot for Bugatti, for obvious reasons. Scroll down for video!
