On the heels of an immense wave of John Lennon nostalgia stemming from Rolling Stone publishing previously undisclosed tapes from his final interview, 30 years after his death, a luxury car crime has been committed (see photo below).
It seems that the ‘Mean Green Machine’, an eyesore that was the daily driver for John Lennon and wife Yoko Ono during the final years of his life, has sold at auction. Why does this amaze me? Because he also owned a 1965 Rolls Royce Phantom Limousine painted in wild psychedelic colors and patterns. Which would you rather have for an inflated price because it was formerly owned by a legend? Thought so. I would even settle for a Rolls Royce rental over a putrid green putter.
