Now, thanks to people who obviously are completely void of that emotion we label ‘fear’, the Chuck Norris types of the world can experience ‘Utah Mountain Adventures’, a privately guided climbing expedition up an ice-covered peak. For the less extreme sports lovers out there, I recommend a luxury sports car rental, you can even go all out and secure some track time in a Ferrari F430 rental Miami, where it is far above freezing. You know, if you lack the balls to challenge nature in its most brutal state.

This is a sensitive subject for some, as some believe the most expensive mushroom is the white truffle. The white truffle is a rare and expensive fungus, but it is lacking one vital quality when vying for the title: it is NOT a mushroom. Does that settle it? Now, meet the new contender, Japan’s matsutake mushroom.

The matsutake mushroom of Japan, or mattake, is extremely rare. We all know how this works-something is rare, therefore it is expensive, the old ‘supply and demand’ strategy for marketing. Historically the matsutake mushroom is synonymous with autumn in Japan.

So why are the matsutake shrooms so rare? This has been bugging me. The plight of this mushroom is literally due to a bug, an insect that eradicates the trees that shelter the sumptuous shrooms. The decline of these trees has in turn led to a decline in the matsutake mushroom, as symbiotic relationships go. So the price per pound of this glorified fungus is a staggering $2,000. Yes. For fungus.

Beach Driving in Florida Threatened? Only 17 Miles Remain

The beaches in Volusia County Florida are hot spots for spring breakers and guests because they are the only beaches that allow motor vehicles to be driven on the sand. This fact draws in tourists worldwide annually to enjoy the tradition. In light of recent accidents, could this tradition be drawing to a close?

While there have been sporadic accidents of pedestrians being struck by vehicles on Daytona and New Smyrna Beaches, the recent deaths of two tots in the past four months have generated much controversy and concern in the vacation hotspot.

The two most recent deaths were of Floridian Aiden Patrick, 6, and visitor Ellie Bland, 4. Neither driver faces charges in the tragic accidents. I suppose it would be impossible, even at the beach speed limit of 10 miles per hour, to anticipate a darting child and stop. Residents of Volusia County express their sympathy for the tragic loss of the children, but continue to voice their support of beach driving in their communities. I think it is important to both sympathize with the families of the children, and remain objective. This seems to be the sentiment of Volusia county residents.

Of the 50 miles of beach line in Volusia County, it is legal to drive on 17 miles of it, whereas in the past it was legal to drive

on all 50. That translates to 17 miles where it is legal to drive on the beach in the entire state of Florida, and some fanatics want that right stripped? That leaves 33 miles of child safe beaches in the county, and hundreds more in the state. Some residents state the obvious, saying the parents should have been watching their children, as it is the same as a street.

China Unveils 3D Express Coach, Welcome to the Future!

When I first glimpsed this photo online, I felt the thrill that small children feel when they get a new idea that they shouldn’t, which must have been how the designer felt when he came up with it! This is so crazy, so innovative, and so logical that it may actually work to solve China’s overpopulation crisis. What is it? Glad you asked.

Meet the ‘3D Express Coach’, and while I cannot say that the branding efforts are impressive, the idea certainly is! It is a bus that just runs over cars on the streets. The 3D Express Coach is like a train, only without the additional space wasted on tracks. It runs on svelte tracks that are positioned as part of the road, like guardrails. It is a hoverbus! Imagine the commute times slashed by avoiding traffic issues! No one with any brains would drive in the city again, leading to not only a more functional city, but also a greener one! Oh the possibilities.
