The 2010 Lotus Evora: Exotic Sports Car Just for You.

What was previously code named "Eagle" has been revealed as the Lotus Evora car. Lotus designed the Evora in an attempt to diversify the market and attract a new demographic. Designed for greater day-to-day driveability and positioned above the Elise,  Exige S and Europa models, the new Evora will hold more luxury comforts in a larger chassis.  The structure is all Lotus, lightweight, mid- Toyota 3.5-liter V6 engine. Tuned to put out 276 horsepower, the Evora does zero to 60 in less than five seconds with a top speed of 160 mph.

The Evora is a true two-seater but Lotus calls the car a 2+2, though, we aren’t sure you could fit a dwarf or baby back there. To appeal to a larger demographic Lotus put more on the inside, though, nothing extraordinary. Rather, what the rest of the car buying world would call standard, yet was missing from the earlier Exige and Elise models. The Evora has air conditioning, leather seating, a tire-pressure monitoring system, a backup camera, blue LED lighting, and a remote garage-door opener. Alpine audio and navi-system with satellite radio, iPod and bluetooth connectivity, and blah, blah, blah. The Evora is rounded out with anti-lock brakes and traction and stability control, and please no applause. The thing is this, if you want to choose high performance over lavishness then the Lotus Evora is perfect. We prefer not to choose one over the other but if you have to, the American Evora will have a base price below any Porche, BMW M3, or Mercedes-Benz AMG. Thus, bringing high performance at a lower price tag of about $60k.

The Lotus Evora goes on sale Spring of this year in Europe. Only about 2000 units will be produced and sales will shift to the U.S later in 2009 as 2010 models. The Lotus Evora is the first of three new models that Lotus promised as part of a five-model business plan to expand the marque. Evora is also the first new addition to the Lotus lineup since 1995. At least Lotus is trying to keep up with the times.

Rolls-Royce Rejuvenates the Phantom

The recession hasn’t got Rolls-Royce yet. The Phantom was the model that re-launched the luxury brand back in 2003. And the Phantom has since been rejuvenated, refined and re-released for 2009.  The latest Phantom received a new streamlined stainless steel front bumper and grille, LED illumination door handles and 21-inch aluminum wheels, standard. The 2009 Phantom got an upgraded RCA component input that gives auxiliary audio and visual connectivity to 12-inch monitors mounted in the car’s picnic tables. What’s more, new electronic controls, bi-directional reading lamps and redesigned door panels with door cappings and integrated grab handles. The 2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom features a 6.7-liter V12 engine at a cost between $350,000 and $423,000. The Phantom is all new for 2009 but nothing too evolutionary because why mess with perfection? If you’re into premier luxury cars then get into the 2009 Phantom.

The 2009 Palm Beach Cavallino Classic. Ferrari, Ferrari and more Ferrari’s

The Palm Beach Cavallino Classic is a highly regarded automotive event that sits in first-class company with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Louis Vuitton Concours d’Elegance, the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza, and the Concorso Italiano. The Cavallino Classic is also considered to be the premier Ferrari event in the nation. The year is brand new but the 2009 Cavallino Classic is already over with January. The 18th Classic came to pass once again from the famed Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. We never mentioned the Cavallino Classic, well, because its just not for everyone and the events are private affairs. Having said that, we were there and have some highlights to share. The Breakers Resort was covered in Ferrari supercars galore; from futuristic to classic and racetrack worthy, all on display.  We first found a yellow, Ferrari FXX Enzo racecar.

To the Ferrari ignorant, FXX Ferrari’s are not homologated for road use and have no plans to be. The FXX prototype was designed exclusively for track driving as part of a specific Ferrari Research and Development program. And this specific R&D program focuses on the further improvement of Ferrari’s handling and performance.

In terms of driveability we appreciated another yellow Ferrari. A yellow, Ferrari special edition F430 Spider Scuderia. The Ferrari F430 Spider Scuderia is a lightweight drop-top version of the inspiring track-ready 430 Scuderia. The differences? Other than no roof, it has a special stripe down the middle and comes with an iPod Touch. And what’s the point? There is no point, the F430 Spider Scuderia was made for the ultimate Ferrari collector, it’s a limited edition Ferrari. Think high eights to a million dollars to own, only a few ever get made and they all always sell out.

Basically we saw every Ferrari ever at this year’s Cavallinio Classic, enough to make any horse prancer wet. While we love us some Ferrari, the Classic wasn’t all Ferrari. Other upscale marques such as Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and even Saleen came to show. Click here to see the 18th Palm Beach Cavallino Classic plus more from Imagine Lifestyles.

The Baby Phantom has Leaked

The baby Phantom has leaked. The Rolls-Royce 200EX will premier at the Geneva Motor Show and, although, smaller than the Phantom she is still a big deal. The project code name comes from the "experimental" prototypes that Rolls-Royce created during the pre-war era. The smaller version Phantom will lose the 200EX moniker shortly and be renamed with some variation of the words Shadow, Spirit or Cloud. The 200EX concept should be realized and in production by 2010 and has
it’s sight set on the Bentley Continental Flying Spur market. The Rolls-Royce 200EX will be the fourth model premiered since BMW took over in 2004. Rolls-Royce pulled the best of the best from the Phantom and Drophead Coupe models and then used the latest BMW 7 Series platform in the new concept car.

The smaller package spans 212.6 inches long, 83 inches wide and 61 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 129.7 inches. A new air suspension system has been concealed behind seven-spoke, 20-inch wheels. Rolls-Royce says the 200EX will be powered by a new V12 but other then that, engine details are all on the down low.  Rolls-Royce is synonymous with luxury in the motoring world and luxury is what you can expect in the 200EX. The inside will hold frosted lamps, chrome door handles, violin key switchgear and an ergonomic roller-ball controller to manipulate the car’s systems. The concept’s look is less formal, not less luxurious but more driveable, prices have not yet been released but expect the 200EX to start at around a quarter million. Its like they say, sometimes the best things come in small packages.

A Pre-Super Bowl 43 Lamborghini Celebration

When a football player is asked how he intends to celebrate a Super Bowl win, he jokes about going to Disney World. Disney World is the habitual joke but no real way to celebrate a Super Bowl win. How would you celebrate?

The big game is this Sunday and it may seem to some, that Arizona Cardinals’ running back Edgerrin James is ahead of himself. While James’ team is 2009 Super Bowl bound, they haven’t won yet. James last played for the Colts who won the 2006 Super Bowl, he received the ring but no play-time. This time around James won’t just be a bench warmer, he is psyched to play. Psyched enough, in fact, to reward himself pre-Super Bowl game outcome. This week while preparing for the game of his life in Tampa, the Cardinal running back bought himself a new Lamborghini. Edgerrin James did a pre-Super Bowl 43 celebration for himself. The white Lamborghini, which is now parked outside his team’s hotel, marks his place in this Super Bowl. There is nothing like a Lamborghini that says, "hi I’m here and better than you." Now whether you win or lose the Super Bowl, at least, there’s a Lamborghini in the picture.

Rumor has it that James doesn’t even like to drive, he would rather text message in the passenger seat. So congrats to James’ chauffeur who, by default, just picked up a money ride.

The Unfortunately Trashy Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG

How the tables have turned on Dubai. At one point Dubai was boasting a $37 billion-something economy and was touted as the luxury capital of the world. Due to rapid real estate expansion and declining oil prices, Dubai finds itself in debt just a few months later. Yet from the looks of it, no one would know Dubai is suffering or borrowing money.

In October we brought you the outrageous, fully chrome Mercedes-Benz SLR.  The shiny sports car was just sitting outside the Emirates mall in Dubai. Well, here we go again. This time its a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and this time its fully gold plated not chrome silver. This way intense gold Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG sits right where its silver counterpart used to, out front of the Emirates mall in Dubai. The flashy, borderline trashy, gold-mirror finish was, of course, an aftermarket decision. The cost of adding this gold plated precious metal finish is unknown, but what we would rather know is why someone felt the need to ruin a perfectly good Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG? The silver chromed Benz was enough bling to last a lifetime, the second time around its just dull.

Get a Ferrari F430 Spyder off eBay

EBay is the online platform that transfers one man’s trash into another man’s treasure. Albeit a matter of personal opinion, one can browse the webpages of eBay freely selling or buying everything and anything. From a shoelace to a 2006 Ferrari F430 Spyder, which we, Imagine Lifestyles, have put up for auction. Buying a Ferrari off eBay may seem a ballsy move but someone is going to do it. The specific F430 Spyder that we put up on eBay has less than 600 original miles, 575 miles to be exact. This silver Ferrari was bought in New Jersey in December 2006 and repossessed right back to the dealership because that’s what happens when posers can’t make payments. Thereafter, an Imagine Lifestyles client bought the car in a single cash payment from Manhattan Motor Cars of New York. Our client had the Ferrari shipped down to Miami, Florida where the F430 Spyder has been garaged ever since.

The Ferrari Spyder convertible is silver, flawless and fully-stocked. There has not been a scratch, ding or dent, she is in sexy condition. Meaning this Spyder is as good as off the lot and has never undergone any body work.  If you don’t believe us then order an independent body inspection for yourself. The interior is black with special stitching; plus, upgraded carbon fiber dash, doors and steering wheel. The Ferrari Spyder has F1 transmission, Power Daytona seats and a Valentine 1 custom radar built into the mirror. Imagine Lifestyles already owns two Ferrari F430 Spyders, and if we were in the market for another we would buy this one rather then auction it off on eBay. We are paying it forward because everybody should be lucky enough to own a Ferrari F430 Spyder convertible. Bidding starts at $199,999 and there are three days left on the auction. Bid up for the Ferrari F430 Spyder, deals like this don’t come around everyday. Life is short, reward yourself with treasure.

The Valentine’s Gift He Will Love You More For: Exotic Rental Car

For all girlfriends, wives, lovers, etc. etc, without a Valentine’s Day clue. Do like Jessica Simpson did on her MTV hit reality show "Newlyweds." The deficient blonde who called herself a singer should be remembered for three things. One, being hot, two, being laughable, and three, getting her husband Nick Lachey the perfect Valentine’s Day present.

On Valentine’s Day newlyweds Jessica got Nick an exotic luxury car. Nick looked like he might die when a hot red Ferrari pulled into his driveway. Jessica didn’t buy Nick the Ferrari but rather rented one for Valentine’s Day. Gifting Nick an exotic luxury rental seems to be the only semi-intelligent decision Jess ever made. Rather than buy a quarter million dollar plus car, try renting first. With a good luxury rental company its easy, you get a beautiful luxury car, where you want it, when you want it, for however long you want it. First think about it this way, its cheap, cheap, cheap to rent for a few days rather than buy. Second, your man will get the same driving thrill and dumbfound smile from a rental. In fact, he’ll probably be more relaxed and appreciative knowing he doesn’t have to pay car insurance on the thing. Last, renting an exotic luxury car affords flexibility, he won’t get stuck driving the same-old depreciating car everyday. If you wanted you could rent him a different exotic car each day of the Valentine’s week. Even the guy who has everything can appreciate driving a different Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Bentley, etc. every day.

Put him behind the wheel of an exotic luxury car and we guarantee he will love you forever. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time but, ladies, this gift works all the time. Think about his birthdays, anniversaries, business promotions, black tie events or even as an "I’m sorry" gift. Or just rent him a luxe car to make an ordinary night out, that much more extraordinary.  If not for him then do it for you because your guy will look so fantastic driving whatever you rent him, that you’ll fall in love all over again. Enjoy the ride, happy Valentine’s Day!

Blinded by this Benz

Two custom cars that caught our attention are now on display at the Toyko Auto Salon at Makuhari Messe in China, east of Tokyo. On January 9, 2009 two sparkly Mercedes-Benz SL600’s made a lively debut. The custom car accessory company Garson/D.A.D put up the two Benz, studded with 300,000 Swarovski crystal glass studs. If you’re in the area check out other customized cars, if not enjoy the pictures. The pictures will suffice because something so shiny can only hold our attention so long, until the next new shiny toy comes out. Plus, who would actually want to own such a gaudy ride, a beadazzled Benz? Come on, it really is a fine line between flashy and trashy ya’ll.
