Luxury News: Conan O’Brien ‘Moves it on Up’

Conan O'Brien Moves to TBS like George LopezTo all my late-night television-loving fans, I have a bit of news on Conan O’Brien.  Amid much controversy and media frenzy, Conan seems to be stabilizing into his new network and timeslot, and apparently new living situation.

Upon finding his new home on television, at TBS, Conan has been marketing his luxury digs in order to literally find a new home, closer to the office I presume.  Conan’s luxury home on New York’s upper west side is reportedly in the closing stages for a sale of nearly $30 million.  This comes on the heels of Conan pocketing $32 million when he left NBC’s “The Tonight Show”, under acrimonious terms, so I guess you could say the man is not doing to shabby in the financial department.

The Most Expensive: Andy Warhol Portrait Fetches $32.6 Million

A rather gaunt and wild-haired self-portrait of the famed artist, filmmaker, producer and author Andy Warhol fetched an impressive $32.6 million at a New York auction this week, at around twice the presale estimate.

Self Portrait by Andy Warhol Fetches $32.6 MillionWhile it is certainly steep, this is not the highest price ever paid for a Warhol painting.  His 1963 piece, ‘Eight Elvises’ went for a cool $100 million.  In the art world, few artists ever hit the $100 million benchmark.  Artists that have include the likes of Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Jackson Pollock,Willem de Kooning and of course, Andy Warhol.  I am thinking I could buy a luxury yacht or a few hundred luxury rental cars for the price of that Warhol painting.

How James Bond, the Aston Martin Rental

I was watching a bit of Goldfinger the other day, which led to me inevitably fantasizing about luxury cars.  That thought train of course drifted to the Aston Martin.  Oh how I love 007 and exotic cars.
Aston Martin Vantage Convertible Rental Miami
The Aston Martin Vantage convertible is the perfect warm weather luxury car rental.  While we have a couple of Aston Martin rentals, I do see them around Miami on occasion, and I also not the amount of heads turning when I do.  I guess 007 feels no need to be discreet while perusing around chasing danger in his luxury cars.  When I drive our Aston, I sometimes pretend that I am he, on a secret mission…but then some valet abruptly removes me from said delusion and I am transported back to a South Beach restaurant or event.  Sigh.

Big (Bad) Ben

He needed a slap upside the head.  And he got one from the head honcho of the NFL.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and two–time Super Bowl winner, Ben Roethilsberger, was slapped with a six–game suspension by the NFL on Wednesday for not complying with the league’s personal conduct policy.  It stems from a second incident in two years involving allegations of sexual misconduct.

1961 Ferrari 250 GT Ok so we all know that the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder that starred in the film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” was a bit thrashed up during the process of filming.

Former Racecar Driver Loses Porsche to a Museum
