California Hybrid Drivers Lose Special Privileges

For the past six years, drivers of hybrid cars in California had the luxury of life in the fast lane:  permission to drive in the carpooling lane normally reserved for carpoolers with 2 or more passengers, completely alone.  Now hybrid drivers of California are facing the loss of that privilege, coloring their once green faces red with anger.

Hybrid HOV stickers

The stickers issued to drivers of hybrids and luxury hybrid vehicles, allowing them to roll freely through carpooling lanes, are about to expire, and will not be renewed.  The right to drive in the carpooling lanes began as an incentive to buy vehicles that used less fuel and were kinder to the environment.  Now the road is being cleared for a generation of even cleaner smart cars, with 40,000 green bumper sticker decals soon available to owners of “partial zero-emission” vehicles.

Porsche Recalling 1,702 Units!

Porsche is recalling an estimated 1,702 units due to a center-locking hub that can loosen the wheels. Those models include the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, 911 GT3, 911 GT3 RS, 911 Turbo and the 911 Turbo S. If you own or are the owner of a Porsche rental mentioned above, the company will correct this issue free of charge.

Porsche Recalls

This huge recall stems from the center-locking hub and wheel assemblies because as the hubs experience premature wear, the wheels have the potential to loosen, creating the danger of a crash for the luxury car drivers. The recall affects the above-mentioned Porsche models for 2010-2011 that were manufactured from May 18th, 2009 through September 17th, 2010 and were equipped with center-locking hub and wheel assemblies.
