Tramontana Fuses Formula 1 Racing and Fighter Jet for Ultimate Exotic Car

Tramontana Luxury Cars

If you haven’t heard of Tramontana, they are an independent European luxury car maker in Costa Brava, Spain, who manufacture the exclusive Tramontana exotic car.  The Tramontana is a mesh of a Formula 1 racecar and a fighter jet, handmade with the precision of a surgeon.

Powered by a twin-turbocharged V12 engine kicking out 720 horses, the entirety of the exotic car is comprised of only the finest luxury materials (think carbon fiber).  This would make an exhilarating exotic rental car, especially on the track!  The entire bodywork is carbon fiber, making it a lightweight, lustworthy speed-demon…the only thing missing are wings!  The luxurious carbon fiber drips into the cabin, total eye candy.

Who Is Ready To Fly?

It’s A Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s a Jetlev

Here at the Chicago branch of Imagine Lifestyles, we usually refer to flying as getting behind the wheel of one of our exotic sports car rentals and cruising down Lake Shore Drive 10-15 mph over the speed limit.  However, after a recent discovery, we hope to soon be actually flying over Lake Michigan.  Unfortunately, we are not purchasing any new luxury charter planes or helicopters but we are hoping to get our hands on a Jetlev as soon as possible.

Reinventing the Wheel: The Solowheel Mini-Segway Video

*Click on video above to veiw the Solowheel in action

Transportation history in a nutshell:

-4000 BC: Invention of the wheel

-1866: Invention of the unicycle

-2001: Invention of the Segway

Of course this leaves out automobiles and exotic rental cars…and now in 2011, we are faced with the Solowheel, a miniature Segway-style contraption that promises to keep people from being as active as they could be.  Points for laziness.

WTF: VW Diesel-Electric Gets 261 MPG

VW XL1 Concept Car

Could it be?  Could the mad scientists at Volkswagen have created the ultimate plug-in diesel hybrid that can squash the competition at 261 miles per gallon?  VW has bitten the bullet, and spit out a bullet-shaped concept car that could be the most fuel-efficient luxury hybrid ever.  I foresee a greener future free of fuel dependence…and inflated electric costs.

The XL1 concept car was the answer to the question “Just how much could the energy consumption of cars be reduced if all the stops were pulled out for efficiency?”  I think that inquiry was answered 261 times.

400 People Volunteer for One-Way Trip to Mars

Colonizing Mars

This is right up there with scientology and the new Ferrari FF hatchback on the weird scale.  It seems that some space fans have volunteered for a likely one-way trip to Mars…without ever being asked.  Within a month of reading “The Human Mission to Mars:  Colonizing the Red Planet”, approximately 400 people have written the editors to volunteer for such a trip.  I guess a space shuttle could be more exotic than even a Lamborghini rental Miami style, but the fear factor is pretty intimidating.

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won an estimated $250 million in long-term maintenance support business from Cathay Pacific.  Cathay will provide TotalCare long-term services and support for the Trent 700 engines that power the new Airbus A330 aircraft produced by Rolls-Royce.  Confused yet?  Allow me to explain that Rolls Royce is far more than just luxury automobiles and exotic car rentals, but an entire fleet of engines covering land, sea and air!

Porsche 918 Hybrid Concept Could Take its Top Off On the Street

Porsche 918 Hybrid Racecar

Following a four-year hiatus, Porsche has returned to the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, brimming with optimism and enthusiasm.  I would be both optimistic and enthusiastic as well, if I were showing off the stunning 918 Porsche RSR hybrid racecar to the auto city!

Porsche as a brand delivers some of the world’s best luxury cars and exotic Porsche rentals, and when a new model emerges, the masses take notice.  The Porsche 918 racing coupe is in concept form boasting 767 horsepower with a B8 engine and two electric motors catapulting this luxury hybrid from 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds with top speeds of 198 miles per hour.  I would say that luxury hybrids and electric technology are certainly evolving!

Could Luxury Hybrid Cars Someday Rival the Smartphone in Popularity?

The mastermind behind the luxury electric vehicle, Henrik Fisker, has wondered aloud if people will adapt to hybrid and electric vehicles just as they have smartphones and new technology like the flat screen television.  Mr. Fisker, of Fisker Karma, certainly poses an interesting question and perspective for the luxury hybrid car, luxury auto and even exotic rental car industries.  When and will the world embrace electric cars?  Can you imagine plugging in your electric Ferrari rental Miami someday?

Electric and Hybrid Cars

The main argument posed by those opposed to electric cars and luxury hybrid cars are production costs.  Fisker points out that if inventions over the past decade are taken into account, new technology is usually more expensive initially, and once the development process is initiated, the production price decreases.
