Top 5 Luxury Vehicles Most Likely to Get Tickets

Some cars just seem to get ticketed more frequently than others…especially luxury cars.  Of course the driver’s speed preferences must be factored into the equation, and yet many luxury car drivers tend to feel that they are targeted for tickets.  What do you think?

Stats from Quality Planning, a Verisk Analytics company used by auto insurers to validate policyholder info analyze traffic violation data racked up by various car models.  The data takes into consideration the number of cars on the road, and averages the violation count per 100,000 miles driven.  Vehicles discontinued for over ten years are left out of the analysis.  Hypercars like Ferrari, Lamborghini and exotic rental cars are on the roads in smaller numbers, likely the reason they do not appear here.

Here are the top 5 vehicles most likely to get a ticket:

1.    Mercedes-Benz SL-Class
2.    Scion tC
3.    Hummer H2
4.    Mercedes-Benz CLS-63 AMG
5.    Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG

The Top 5 Lamborghini Models of All Time

In the industry of luxury cars and exotic car rentals, Lamborghini is at the top of its game.  The following is a compilation of the top 5 Lamborghini models of all time, serving as a guideline of the luxury marquee’s progression and success:

1.    The 350 GT (1964-1966)
2.    Miura (1966-1972)
3.    Espada (1968-1978)
4.    Countach (1974-1989)
5.    Murcielago (2001-2010)

You may be shocked that I have left out the Lamborghini Gallardo, because it is such a forerunner and symbol of success that the other models are often overlooked.

1964 – 1966 Lamborghini 350 GT
This was the first Lamborghini sports car, boasting a V12 engine producing 320 horsepower.  Larger ‘muscle car’ engines were more common during this period, and this Lambo hit the 0-60 mark in 6.7 seconds.  The 350 GT features a 5-speed manual transmission and an aluminum body on a tubular steel frame.  The body of the 350 GT was designed by Franco Scaglione and started the tradition of the elongated hood and body style.

Top Five Car Brands Eager to Obtain Luxury Status

There are standard car brands and there are luxury car brands, but where is that line drawn in the sand?  There was a time when the line was around $30,000, but with non-luxury brands selling vehicles for $40,000-$60,000 on today’s market, it is a bit more difficult to discern!

For example, a loaded Chrysler Town and Country or Honda Odyssey minivan often crest the $40,000 mark…and I am sure most are with me when I say these are not luxury vehicles, and far from exotic rental car material.  This is where brand distinction comes into play.  Most will agree that Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, BMW and the like are ‘Luxury’ brands.  But not so fast.  It seems that certain automotive players are going for a new angle and gearing up efforts to become luxury brands.

The top 5 auto brands striving for luxury automaker status include:

•    Volkswagen
•    Chrysler
•    Hyundai
•    Buick
•    Jeep

Top 5 Most Expensive Celebrity Screwups of 2010

Looking back on 2010, one thing is for certain-some of our favorite celebrities can stand some improvement for 2011!  I smell behavioral-based New Year’s resolutions for the following senseless stars, judging by their quality antics:

•    Jay Leno
•    Jesse James
•    Mel Gibson
•    Charlie Sheen
•    Kanye West

Jay Leno

Jay Leno.  It seems that NBC should stand for “Now Boys, C’mon”, as late-night talk show hosts Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien have been duking it out over time slots for the better part of…who cares!  Jay Leno, aside from an understandable love for exotic cars, also has a commitment issue, and O’Brien has a whining issue.  In a nutshell, Leno took NBC up on its offer to move him to the 10 p.m. slot, thus fulfilling his 5-year-old promise to O’Brien to give him “The Tonight Show” at 11:35 p.m.  The arrangement left both parties hemorrhaging viewers, and the aftermath left them lacking class.  At least Jay Leno loves Cougars!

Top 5 Motives Behind Not Buying That Ferrari You Have Been Eyeing!

Yeah, I said it.  There are reasons NOT to own a Ferrari supercar!  So sit back, relax and let me explain the method behind my madness.

Here are the Top 5 Reasons NOT to buy a Ferrari, but rather, rent one!

1.    Avoid the colossal cost of claiming your own Ferrari, and opt for a Ferrari rental when the urge strikes.  This method saves you the $220,000 and higher price tag, while affording you further options mentioned below.  A supercar like a Ferrari is not generally a daily driver, with the exception of perhaps the new Ferrari California rental, so it is more economical to rent one for special occasions for around $2,000 and under rather than deplete your bank account for a luxury car you will only drive occasionally anyhow.

Expensive Luxury Cars

2.    A luxury rental car like a Ferrari gets you out of expensive regular maintenance fees that come attached to these types of vehicles.  When you invest up to a quarter million and up for an exotic car, it is crucial to ensure it is maintained properly, and many people are unaware of just how pricey and complicated this task can become.  Not only is it expensive, but you also need to locate a trustworthy mechanic in your area who is capable and familiar with servicing such a premium vehicle.  There are horror stories associated with finding a trustworthy luxury car mechanic, including tales of mechanics totaling the cars during an unauthorized joyride!

 Ferrari Interior

3.    By indulging in a Ferrari rental for your special occasions, you allot yourself the freedom to experience any model, and switch up brands when you wish.  This allows you to try out the new Ferrari models as they come out, and also to try other luxury rental cars Miami out, like an Aston Martin rental, Lamborghini rental or plethora of other options.  Everyone likes options!

Lamborghini Supercar

4.    Renting an exotic car also keeps you out of the steep storage fees of properly housing your supercar.  Most Ferrari owners keep their cars in special climate-controlled buildings that are often off premises, and these are often quite costly per month.  Why spend and spend on all of this if you are not driving the car that often anyway?  Renting a luxury car gives you all the bang for your buck, and none of the hassles!

Storing a Ferrari

5.    Lastly, you can completely avoid that fight with your significant other about shelling out so much of your savings account on such an extravagant toy.  Instead, you can surprise her by picking her up in a hot Ferrari rental, casually explaining that it is only $2,000 rather than a quarter mil, and that she is totally worth it for your anniversary.  Be smooth, it works!

Convinced?  Check out our available Ferrari rental Miami options, including the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano rental, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti rental, all-new Ferrari California rental, Ferrari F430 coupe rental and Ferrari F430 spider rental.
