The Lexus CT 200h Luxury Hybrid–Radically Different

Lexus CT 200h Luxury Hybrid Car

The bold and unique luxury hybrid from Lexus is zooming across headlines.  This luxury hybrid car is aerodynamic, luxuriously appointed inside, and yes, environmentally conscious!

In fact, the Lexus CT 200h hybrid is the most fuel-efficient luxury hybrid car available with a 42 MPG rating, while keeping all creature comforts elegantly intact.  Amenities of this Lexus hybrid include XM Radio, top-notch sound system, and the feel of a racecar cockpit laden with conveniences and drenched in luxury.  It is truly the sports car experience, similar to an exotic sports car rental Miami…at least on the inside.

A Mini Ferrari? A Super-Cute Supercar

Fiat 500 Ferrari

While Fiat and Abarth operate under the same Fiat group umbrella, they are separate firms.  Their differences are quite clear when you observe the Fiat 500 Ferrari Edition or 695 Tributo Ferrari.  Honey, who shrunk the Ferrari?  It is a luxury hybrid of diminutive proportions. I do not believe we will see this Ferrari in a fleet of luxury rental cars.

WTF: VW Diesel-Electric Gets 261 MPG

VW XL1 Concept Car

Could it be?  Could the mad scientists at Volkswagen have created the ultimate plug-in diesel hybrid that can squash the competition at 261 miles per gallon?  VW has bitten the bullet, and spit out a bullet-shaped concept car that could be the most fuel-efficient luxury hybrid ever.  I foresee a greener future free of fuel dependence…and inflated electric costs.

The XL1 concept car was the answer to the question “Just how much could the energy consumption of cars be reduced if all the stops were pulled out for efficiency?”  I think that inquiry was answered 261 times.

Porsche 918 Hybrid Concept Could Take its Top Off On the Street

Porsche 918 Hybrid Racecar

Following a four-year hiatus, Porsche has returned to the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, brimming with optimism and enthusiasm.  I would be both optimistic and enthusiastic as well, if I were showing off the stunning 918 Porsche RSR hybrid racecar to the auto city!

Porsche as a brand delivers some of the world’s best luxury cars and exotic Porsche rentals, and when a new model emerges, the masses take notice.  The Porsche 918 racing coupe is in concept form boasting 767 horsepower with a B8 engine and two electric motors catapulting this luxury hybrid from 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds with top speeds of 198 miles per hour.  I would say that luxury hybrids and electric technology are certainly evolving!

Could Luxury Hybrid Cars Someday Rival the Smartphone in Popularity?

The mastermind behind the luxury electric vehicle, Henrik Fisker, has wondered aloud if people will adapt to hybrid and electric vehicles just as they have smartphones and new technology like the flat screen television.  Mr. Fisker, of Fisker Karma, certainly poses an interesting question and perspective for the luxury hybrid car, luxury auto and even exotic rental car industries.  When and will the world embrace electric cars?  Can you imagine plugging in your electric Ferrari rental Miami someday?

Electric and Hybrid Cars

The main argument posed by those opposed to electric cars and luxury hybrid cars are production costs.  Fisker points out that if inventions over the past decade are taken into account, new technology is usually more expensive initially, and once the development process is initiated, the production price decreases.

Can Green Get Sexy? The Challenge of Electric Car Names

Electric Cars

You can generally tell a lot about a car by its name:  is it fast, is it trendy, is it powerful, and yes, is it green.  For example the Leaf and the C-Zero are ostentatiously green, communicating clearly to buyers that they are getting an environmentally conscious car.  Aside from the Leaf, which in my opinion takes the gold in this category, the Chevrolet Volt recently purchased by Jay Leno is a close second for effective and eccentric electric car names.  Trendy names may prove essential for electric rental cars and hybrid luxury rental cars to emerge successfully.

Will F1 Racing Eventually Become a Power Wheel Joke?

F1 Racing

Lately there has been much chatter in the exotic auto industry and racing circuits regarding Formula 1 Racing and if it is about to go to the dark…I mean green side.  Ferrari Corporation has mentioned it, as has BBC Sports and many others.  But is it true?  In the words of ‘Allen’ from the hit movie “The Hangover”, “Could it be?”  Is Formula 1 Racing joining up with the green movement, joining their ‘wolf pack’?
