BMW Ultimate Drive App: Facebook for Cars?

BMW Ultimate Drive App

BMW is driven to please customers and improve the experience of getting around with their new ‘Ultimate Drive’ application. The BMW Ultimate Drive app proclaims to help drivers “Discover the best roads to drive”, which sounds appealing. This would also be ideal to download when renting a BMW from your friends at Imagine Lifestyles, as you could see what routes the locals love!

According to the website, the BMW Ultimate Drive app comes from the makers of the Ultimate Driving Machine. Apparently, they have not enjoyed one of our Ultimate Driving Experiences in a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Ultimately, we love BMW and just used that opportunity to shamelessly plug our event. Moving along, the BMW app offers drivers the opportunity to connect with each other and share the best roads and routes to take, all over the world. read more

Can BMW Make Your Car a Mobile Hotspot?

BMW mobile hotspot

BMW would like to make your next ride a mobile 4G hotspot. This is all fine and good, but what happens when the 5G craze strikes? I kid. In all seriousness, the brand is all about connectivity, and the mobile hotspot is currently on the market. Is the auto industry the final frontier in connectivity?

Will the BMW mobile hotspot catch on with other automakers? Will this be the new norm?

While it is unsafe to text and drive, Facebook and drive, or paint your toenails and drive, BMW and other companies are working to keep up with technology demands. Now drivers around the world can experience a newfound peace behind the wheel. There will be less whining and protesting erupting from little ones in the backseat, as their laptops and devices will have a perfect signal while inside the vehicle! read more

Challenge Accepted? The Hennessey Cadillac Packs 1,226 HP

It is no secret that John Hennessey creates some of the most aggressive speed demons out there. It is also never understated that Hennessey loves to compete, and is vying to get Bugatti to line up on the track next to his latest invention: a 1,226 horsepower Cadillac CTS-V coupe. Yes, a Caddy with more horses under the hood than the world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. The official name is the Cadillac VR1200 and it may not exactly belong in our list of cars that appear fast even when parked, it certainly is noteworthy. read more

Ferrari to Unleash 900 Prancing Hybrid Horses in Detroit (Video)

ferrari hybrid

While Lamborghini has not entered the hybrid supercar race (and claims they will never), Ferrari and others are stampeding ahead with their respective versions. In fact, the 900-hp Ferrari hybrid is slated to appear at this year’s Detroit Motor Show. Yes, I said 900 horses and hybrid in the same sentence. Details on the hybrid Ferrari chassis can be found here. Video at bottom of post.

Fun fact: A hybrid drivetrain also is a way to boost performance.

The horsepower race among gas-electric hybrids is getting better with each introduction. But will the word ‘hybrid’ someday lose its association with the words “slow” and “green”? Perhaps not the later, but the performance outlook is certain to alter with the arrivals of more and more blisteringly fast hybrid hypercars! read more

Porsche to Flex Diesel Style in U.S.

Not too long ago, the word Porsche was synonymous with simply a sleek and relatively unchanged sports car. These days, the Cayenne SUV is one of the most popular models--and soon it will be available in diesel form!  Of course, Europeans have been enjoying the diesel version since 2009, but now the brand feels Americans will be more open to the technology.
