Paris Hilton Pink Bentley GT Coupe

Paris Hilton Pink Bentley GT Coupe

Looking at this eyesore-extravaganza makes me wish Bentley, or whoever is responsible for this monstrosity of a custom paint job, had the heart to tell Paris Hilton NO.  Has anyone ever done that, by the way?  I can only assume that she did not get to color enough Easter eggs as a child.  This would never survive as a luxury rental car, so I shudder to think of what will happen to this Bentley once Paris tires of it.  Speaking of tires, scope the rims she has on it, ouch.

Up next we have the luscious Pamela Anderson!  Oh and the Jaguar is not too shabby, either.  Anderson is always on top of her game, and I like the classic white Jag, it will go with anything, unlike Hilton’s pitiful pink Bentley.

Ask Imagine: What Range Rover Rental Should I Choose?

Dear Imagine Lifestyles,

I usually rent Cadillac Escalades and other luxury SUV rentals when I travel around New York City with my family.  I want to try a Range Rover rental out, and I am wondering if they fit all the same criteria as Escalade.  We have two small children and luggage, so the luxury SUV rental must be able to accommodate that.  Do you have any tips?

Sincerely,

Jack, New York

Bizzare Food: The Unhappy Meal

In perhaps the experiment of all fast food experiments, New York City photographer Sally Davies has succeeded in conjuring up qualms about the quality of the fare feasted on by the masses-McDonalds restaurants.  She accomplished this by simply ordering a meal, then inexplicably leaving it on a shelf in her home for 180 days, taking photos of it every few days.

So where is the story?  They say, “Where’s the Beef”, well, in this unique case, where is the mold?  In 6 months on a shelf in her living room, the McDonalds meal not only failed to grow mold, it appeared almost exactly the same as the day she brought the steaming bag home.  It is essentially the McHappy Meal of Youth.  The meal had no smell, no structural change, yet retained a greasy feel.  Yikes.

McDonalds is a weakness for all economy levels, a greasy bag of luxury even the filthy rich enjoy on occasion.  This is why it is one of the few restaurants on earth rake in billions and billions of dollars and boasts an icon that is instantly recognized around the world. We even spotted one of our Lamborghini rental cars going through the drive through.

Hungry? Luxury Restaurant Nobu Opens in Hungary

The delicious institution that is Nobu, among the best luxury Japanese restaurants in existence, has extended its reach to Hungary, Central Europe.  Now patrons can enjoy the sublime seafood offerings at Nobu Budapest.

The grand opening of Nobu Budapest marks the 22nd successful restaurant creation by celebrity chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, and the culinary cues show no sign of stagnation!  I can already picture the exotic and luxury car rentals lined up at the valet, but what signature dishes will be on the menu at this luxury Japanese restaurant?

Nobu Hungary is set to tantalize the taste buds with alarming attention to detail and creativity with inventive dishes like jalapeno yellowtail sashimi, blackened cod marinated in red miso, a squid pasta in light garlic sauce, and a lobster ceviche in a leaf of butter lettuce.

Nobu is known for their swanky and trendy interior design, and the Budapest location is much the same, with seating to accommodate 130 lucky guests.  Nobu will also be incorporating some of the local Hungarian flavors into its phenomenal fare, and is conceptualizing a signature dish to the new loNobu Hungary Openingcation, perhaps the regional catfish.

Fresh seafood specimens are flown in fresh from Greece, Spain, Italy, Alaska and Sri Lanka to the new Nobu location.  There will certainly be no shortage of fresh flavors according to executive chef Lloyd Roberts,

“We are experimenting with paprika, Tokaji wine, goose liver and Mangalitsa sausage.”

Nobu Budapest also features an adjoining 50-seat luxury bar where guests can sip on an extensive assortment of young sakes straight from Japan.  Overall, you can expect the Hungary spot to exceed expectations like every other location, like Nobu South Beach, which is always popping, with Lamborghini rentals, Ferrari rentals Miami style and more lining the street!

Luxury List Item: Kopi Luwak Exotic Coffee $100-$600 Per Pound

This Luxury List Item is definitely not for the squeamish!  Kopi Luwak is an exotic coffee hailing from Indonesia that is processed in a quite peculiar manner.  These coffee beans are harvested after passing through the Asian Palm Civet, a cat like mammal indigenous to the area.  Yes, the civet must first excrete these coffee beans before they make their way to your cup!  I would think people would have to be paid rather than pay to drink theseKopi Luwak Coffee dirty beans, but pay they do, to the tune of $100-$600 USD per pound!

The civet eats the coffee berries, which possess a cherry-like pulp on the exterior of the coffee bean.  The coffee berries then spend a day and a half in the digestive tract of the civet, where proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, which some feel reduce the bitterness of the coffee.  The beans maintain their shape upon defecation, and are then gathered, washed thoroughly, sun dried, lightly roasted and brewed to yield an aromatic and sweet brew.  Yum.

Smirnoff Gets into the Marketing Mix and Reality TV

Smirnoff has been displaying an increasing urge to create its own unique television content, and the brand continues its quest for domination as Diageo Smirnoff launches its first brand-produced reality show.  The show will be called “Master of the Mix”, a reality competition and ad campaign rolled into one neat little package.
Master of the Mix Smirnoff
The show will feature a lineup of seven top DJs who will compete for the title of “Master of the Mix” and $250,000 in cash and prizes in various cities including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and London.  This sounds similar to reality shows like “Top Chef”, “America’s Next Top Model” and the like.  Yawn…I feel like this reality craze is spinning out of control.  I would love to see some fresh ideas generated by the major brands of the world.  Continuously repeating what caused others success in the past does not breed creativity, but rather stagnates the entertainment industry.

Top 5 Sushi Spots in Chicago

Top 5 Sushi Spots in Chicago

Over the past 5-10 years Chicago has slowly become a city with a culinary reputation as one of the best places to eat in the United States.  Much like New York, chefs in Chicago have been pushing the envelope and thinking outside the box for sometime and have been very successful in most of their attempts.  In recent years, the popularity of sushi in the United States has grown tremendously as well.  Obviously many Chicago chefs jumped on board with this new trend and below Imagine Lifestyles has listed the top 5 places in Chicago to eat sushi.

1.    Kamehachi
2.    Coast Sushi Bar
3.    Japonais
4.    Mirai Sushi
5.    OYSY Japanese Sushi

1. Kamehachi (5 Different Locations) Any sushi lover in Chicago has probably at least seen or heard of this local favorite.  With locations downtown, in Old Town, and in Northbrook you have plenty of options for where to dine.  My personal favorite is the Old Town location, sitting downstairs, where you can watch your meals being prepared.  Whatever location you choose make sure to try a Chicago Crazy Roll, a delicious combination of fish and vegetables that will melt in your mouth.

2. Coast Sushi Bar (2045 N. Damen) Bucktown might be better known for sports bars and boutiques but there is a very popular Sushi restaurant scattered in amongst the clutter and action of Damen Street.  Known for using some of the freshest local ingredients and pieces of fish, guests will love the sashimi or rolls that come flying out of the kitchen.  The BYOB option allows college kids on a tight budget and business executives to enjoy some fine wines of their liking without breaking the bank as well.

3. Japonais (600 W. Chicago) Although this restaurant is not only located in Chicago, Japonais is probably the most talked about Sushi restaurant amongst foodies.  Whether it is because of the Conde Nast rankings, the celebrity sightings, or just the awesome décor of the space itself Japonais is the place to go for good sushi and a happening social scene.  In order to guarantee yourself a table on a busy Friday night here, check out Imagine Lifestyles Chicago and their fleet of exotic rental cars and arrive in style just like the celebrities you might be dining next to.

 4. Mirai Sushi (2020 W. Division) Bucktown sneaks in one more well-renowned sushi joint on our list with the hip and modern space for a little different type of sushi.  Using ingredients and cooking styles from around the globe the cuisine is not your standard traditional sushi you might have come to expect.  Don’t expect to ever eat the same thing twice though because the menu will change daily based on what ingredients the chef has access to at the local markets each morning.

5. OYSY (3 Locations) Once again, this last restaurant on our list offers its’ fans multiple places to stop in for some fresh sushi or sashimi.  OYSY has a location in both the south loop and river north and both spots are very modern.  Pull up a seat at the bar and watch your chef work his magic, as all the food preparation will be done right in front of you.  The name of the restaurant means delicious, and trust me it is a perfect name for a really good restaurant.

Chicago has thousands of dining options and the city itself is slowly becoming a culinary giant in world cuisine circles.  Steak houses, pizza joints, and Italian restaurants line the city streets next to bars and retail outlets and are a Chicago staple.  However, in recent years Japanese cuisine has been gaining popularity and more prominent chefs are putting their talent and effort into new sushi restaurants.  Next time you are ready to head out on the town for a great dinner, go against the grain of Chicago’s culinary roots and try one of these fabulous sushi restaurants. Next time you are in Chicago give us a call and we can make sure you get the VIP treatment in one of the restaurants mentioned.   Don’t forget to check out our fleet of Chicago exotic car rentals on your way out.
